A thanksgiving prayer

Let’s thank God for everything (Eph. 5:20)A prayer at the end of a thanksgiving service for an aged care provider.

As next Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the USA, today has been day of thanksgiving for us. So let’s continue to honor God and thank Him for the work done through our organization over the past year.

Let’s pray, Father God, we thank you for the opportunity to provide loving Christian care for seniors in our villages and homes. We thank you for all our staff and their acts of kindness over the past year. We thank you for the contributions from our volunteers, including the Ladies Auxiliary. And we thank you for the opportunity to serve all our residents and support their families. May they feel secure and at home in our facilities and may they be sustained by God’s great power and comforted by the Father’s love shown through Jesus Christ.

As Paul wrote, “May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your [our] hearts and strengthen you [us] in every good deed and word” (2 Th. 2:16-17NIV).

Thanks for loving us whatever our circumstances or our feelings may be. You know all about us and you care for us (1 Pt. 5:7). Thanks for giving us “eternal encouragement and good hope” through your promises in the Bible. These strengthen us and enable us to serve you faithfully in all we say and do. We are confident that you are working providentially now and forever more.

And “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you [us] all” (2 Cor. 13:14) now and forever more. Amen.
