Making antisemitism unthinkable

Understanding and responding to antisemitism in Australia

Allies for a strong Australia

Mark Leach says that antisemitism is re-emerging and the clash of civilizations has come to Australia. Hating Jewish people is not a part of biblical Christianity. But antisemitism is a feature of Islam.

He also says, the energy behind contemporary antisemitism is a desire to tear down and destroy our western, judaeo-christian civilisation and replace it with either a marxist utopia or an Islamic caliphate (or perhaps a confused combination of the two).

Allies for a strong Australia

This video was posted by The Allies, who are:

“A broad citizen movement of Australians working together to maintain the values and culture that are the foundations of Australia’s success as a safe, free, prosperous, and multiethnic country. We believe that our Jewish community is the ‘canary in the coalmine’ of the health of our society. If we are true to our Western, Judaeo-Christian heritage and values, the Jewish community of Australia will be free from discrimination and persecution, That is, they will treated exactly the same as any other Australian!”

They say:

“Our success and freedom as a Western, liberal democracy is hard won. Today it is under threat. Antisemitism is an alarming sign of our internal weakness and division. Our strength as a nation lies in our national commitment to Western civilisation: democracy, limited government, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and equality for all under the law. If we embody these values, antisemitism will be unthinkable.”

“Allies for a Strong Australia is a multi-partisan citizen movement committed to confronting antisemitism, strengthening social cohesion, and protecting the democratic values every Australian depends on. We bring together people of every faith, background and political persuasion who share one conviction: that hatred in any form weakens us all, and that a strong Australia is a shared responsibility.”

They stand for:

  • A strong Australia: Confident in its values, united in its diversity, and serious about the safety and dignity of every citizen.
  • A clear line against antisemitism: In our schools, on our streets, online and in public life. Without hesitation, and without qualification.
  • Social cohesion as a national priority: Treated with the seriousness of a national security issue, because that is what it is.
  • Active defence of democratic values: The rule of law, free speech within the law, equal citizenship, and the freedom to live without fear.
  • Every Australian’s right to a fair go: No community should have to carry this burden alone; no Australian should feel unsafe because of who they are.
