Climate education
Do you want to get up to date on the scientific, political, economic, legal and media aspects of climate change? Then check out the presentations and discussions at “Climate realism rising”, the 16th International Conference on Climate Change convened by The Heartland Institute. 18 videos of all the addresses, presentations and roundtables are available online.
See scientific debate unconstrained by political pressure or ideological conformity. The conference brings together researchers, experts, and policymakers who are committed to examining the actual data on climate change rather than accepting predetermined conclusions. There is rigorous, evidence-based discussion on one of the most important policy questions facing our nations and world.
The session themes were:
– EPA Keynote speaker
– Other keynote speakers
– Department of Energy Climate Report – The Authors Speak
– Wrong Again – Embarrassing Record of Failed Climate Predictions
– Beyond CO2 – Other Possible Climate Drivers
– Problems with the Temperature and Climate Records
– Climate Science, Law, and the Courts
– The Most Important Upcoming Battles
– Climate Change: Facts and Fairytales
– Experience with Climate Policy’s Impact on the Real Economy
– Climate Science: An International Perspective
– Big Tech and Big Utilities – The Dastardly Axis
– Bringing Youth into the Climate Realist Fold
– The Affordable, Reliable, Clean Energy Model
At the conference, Peter Ridd (ex James Cook University, Australia) received an award (see lunch keynote speaker, 8 April 2026). He said that America is saving the day again from the corrupt science and politics of the climate scam like they did in the battle of the Coral sea in 1942. He said that “it’s obvious that the climate scam is failing”.
Peter showed his favorite graph of the amount of coral on the Great Barrier Reef. It is evident that the amount of coral in the past 5 years exceeds that of all the previous 35 years. Despite five bleaching events since 2016 that have supposedly killed a huge amount of coral we have finished with record amounts of coral! In fact, the Great Barrier Reef is in wonderful condition. It’s one of the most pristine ecosystems on earth. It’s incredible that people have been told that it is not in good condition. The scientific institutions that made these claims have shown that they are totally untrustworthy.
Disruption
The youth-focused panel was disrupted by activists from Climate Defiance. It seemed like they wanted a shouting match rather than a debate. Climate Defiance is a US-based activist group that uses direct action protests to demand stronger climate action. They focus on civil disobedience and protest to force immediate action to stop fossil fuel expansion. The group specializes in disrupting events, protests, and speeches of politicians and executives to pressure them into supporting stronger environmental policies. It works to disrupt “business as usual” to push for a rapid transition away from fossil fuels.
If a climate activist offered to debate a climate realist at the conference, I’m sure that would have been allowed. The Guardian stated that “the organizer of the protest requested anonymity for fear of retaliation”!
Question
When will the other governments of the western world wake up and stop destroying their energy systems and economies with UN mandates and the idea of “net-zero”?
