Why environmentalism and animal rights are dependent on a Christian worldview
This blogpost comes from J Warner Wallace, who blogs at “coldcasechristianity.com”.
For many who deny the existence of the Christian God, environmentalism and the cause of animal rights have become a religion of sorts. The movement has its own doctrinal beliefs, its own set of commandments and its own set of prescribed consequences. At times, the doctrinal beliefs seem self-contradictory. I have many friends who fight vehemently for the rights of animals while supporting the abortion of humans. Maybe contradictions of this sort are the result of improper “grounding”. (more…)
The religion of climate change
This blogpost comes from an interview of Michael Shellenberger, who is an environmentalist, commentator, author and an advocate for pragmatic solutions to climate change.
Summary
I accept the core science of climate change, but not the alarmism because climate change is gradual and manageable, and not catastrophic. There is no climate crisis or climate emergency. That’s a corruption of the science. For example, sensational scenarios are fraudulent and scare tactics. (more…)
Does God heal today?
This blogpost comes from David Robertson, who blogs at theweeflea.com”.
Acts 3:1-10 is the account of Peter healing a lame beggar. It says (NIV):
One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. (more…)

God knows everything about you, and still loves you
How much of yourself do you feel you must filter when you’re with others? Of course, “others” isn’t a single category; there are many types of others in our lives, from our social media contacts to our closest friends or family members. Is there someone whom you feel you can truly be yourself with? Someone with whom you can express your vulnerable feelings, talk about your deepest struggles, and share your worst moments? We humans learn from a very early age that sharing our deepest parts, especially those we may not like, can be uncomfortable. That’s what happens when we see a toddler hide or cover their face when they know they’ve done the wrong thing. Experiencing rejection, condemnation, or exploitation after revealing our vulnerable parts is incredibly emotionally painful. (more…)
Climate: the movie
Do you know why climate change is mentioned so much today, even though none of us can detect it in our lifetime? (more…)
The sharp end of Easter
If I type “Easter” into my phone the emoji of a cute baby chick in an egg shell comes up. At the shops there are pictures of soft fluffy bunnies and mountains of sweet chocolate eggs. Easter ads show cherub-like laughing children running through green gardens, and generations of family members gathering happily around delicious feasts. (more…)

Science and Christianity
This blogpost comes from Dr Roy Spencer
a former NASA scientist.
Why is it that a bible-believing scientists’ views on science are automatically discounted by some people?
Hypocrisy
First, the hypocrisy. When warmist scientists like Sir John Houghton use the Bible to support action to fight global warming (for example, his book Global Warming: The Complete Briefing) that was OK with everyone. Same with Katherine Hayhoe and Thomas Ackerman.
So, I guess it depends upon whether the bible-believer agrees with them before the warmists decide to trash Bible-believing ways. (more…)
Is heaven boring?
Is heaven boring?
This blogpost comes from David Robertson, who blogs at theweeflea.com”.
Paul said that living in heaven is better than living on earth – “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me” (Phil. 1:21-23). (more…)
Prophecies about Jesus: He would be a suffering servant
God told king David that his royal dynasty would endure forever (2 Sam. 7:16). And the prophets predicted that one of David’s descendants would bring justice and peace (Isa. 11:1-16; Jer. 23:5-6).
That’s why after the time of the Old Testament the Jews looked for a Messiah (anointed one) to lead them and to defeat their enemies. (more…)
Heaven is better than a Taylor Swift concert
If you are a swifty then being in the audience of a Taylor Swift concert is pretty much your definition of heaven.
Being completely immersed in the music you love, singing in unison with thousands upon thousands of others who share your passion, delighting in the choreography and visual display, standing in the presence of your hero — what more could one want? (more…)

Long-range weather prediction failure
What’s happened to the El Niño that experts warned earlier could mean warmer and drier weather and increased bushfire risk for much of Australia this summer? The Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) declared the El Niño in September 2023, three months after US weather agency NOAA and two months after the UN’s World Meteorological Agency. The El Nino weather cycle is often linked to hotter and drier springs and summers for Australia, but the torrential and damaging storms and floods on the east coast in recent weeks have been anything but dry. Weather and climate
Weather change is not climate change
Did you know that most of the examples of climate change presented by the United Nations, politicians, government agencies and the news media are weather and not climate? This means that they are either don’t know the difference or they exploit the ignorance of the public. These examples are not climate change at all. I have pointed this out before. (more…)
Testing climate science
Many actions proposed to address climate change threaten our way of life. But some of the “facts” used to justify these actions are misleading.
This post comes from interviews with Dr Steven Koonin (Appendix A) over the six past months. It addresses claims that there is a climate emergency or climate crisis because of dangerous climate change caused by increased emissions of greenhouse gases from the use of fossil fuels. (more…)
Prophecies about Jesus: He would be the Messiah
People often have job titles at work. Like a manager, a supervisor, or a team leader. And king Charles III, President Biden, and Pharaoh Tutankhamun are known as the King, the President and the Pharaoh.
Did you know that Jesus had a job title? And it wasn’t the sign that was put on His cross – “The king of the Jews”. He was known as the Christ, the Messiah or the Anointed One. How did this come about? (more…)
Good news in a world of bad news
They say that the “proportion of headlines denoting anger, fear, disgust, negativity and sadness” grew markedly in the US between 2000 and 2019. News reports always begin with bad news because humans have a “negativity bias”. We tend to pay more attention to negative experiences than positive ones.
I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is something about us and the good news is something about God. (more…)
Questions and answers about Genesis – Part 2
The Bible gives a selective history of the earth from its creation to its demise. Many question this. Did you know that there are answers to your questions? Here’s the answers to some questions that were asked recently.
This post is based on questions and answers after a presentation by Dr Tas Walker of Creation Ministries International (CMI). (more…)
Global evidence for Noah’s flood

Everywhere you look you can see evidence for the global Flood of Noah’s time, but most don’t recognize it. That’s because they don’t know what to look for.
This blogpost is a summary of six main points that were made by Dr Tasman Walker in a presentation on “Global evidence of Noah’s flood”.
What would we expect to find on earth if there was a global flood as described in Genesis chapters 6-8 in the Bible? (more…)
This blogpost comes from an interview of the Australian biologist

Light is defined as the electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths between 380 and 750 nm, which is visible to the human eye. This light is a source of illumination. And sunlight provides the energy that green plants use to create sugars mostly in the form of starches, which release energy into the living things that digest them. This process of photosynthesis provides virtually all the energy used by living things. Darkness is the absence of visible light.
